Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Rana Shoaib Idrees appeared before the Police today (Sunday) and got his statement recorded. Pakistan Muslim League (N) MPA rejected all the charges against him in his statement.
The MPA was accused of breaking into the Khurrianwala Police Station in Faisalabad, torturing police officers and getting a prisoner, charged with murder, fled from the Police Station. He was charged under Article 540 for attacking the Police station, torturing the police officer, assisting a prisoner in fleeing from Police custody, interfering in the administrative matters and terrorizing the government officials.

According to the Police sources, Rana Shoaib Idrees maintains that he went to the Police Station when the incident took place but he never tortured any police officer nor did he assist any prisoner in fleeing from police custody. He has further stated that some protesters had broken into the police station and he went there only to arbitrate between the parties.
Moreover, it has been learned from police sources that Rana Shoaib Idrees has denied the charges of torturing Sub-Inspector Rana Riasat and stated that the case against him has been registered on the directions of his political opponents.
